CooperVision Inc., a division of Cooper Cos. Inc. (vision care and women’s health), acquired Sauflon Pharmaceuticals Ltd., a private UK company that produces contact lenses, for $1.078bn (£631mm) plus the assumption of $83mm (£48mm) in debt. CooperVision is also issuing $59mm (£34mm) in loan notes to Sauflon.
