Executive Summary
MicroChips (drug delivery and implantable devices for diabetes and osteoporosis) brought in $13.4mm through its latest funding round led by first-time investor Novartis Venture Fund. Other new backer CSK Venture Capital was joined by returning shareholders Polaris Venture Partners, IDG Ventures, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Intersouth Partners, and Boston University Community Technology Fund. A member of Novartis Venture will take a seat on the company's board.
