Five randomized controlled trials comparing the effectiveness of pelvic floor electrical stimulation (PFES) to a sham device for stress incontinence treatment are "inadequate" evidence by which to judge effectiveness, the Medical and Surgical Procedures Panel of the Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee concluded at its April 13 meeting.
