SOUTH FLORIDA CARGO THEFT TASK FORCE INSUFFICIENT FUNDING is thwarting the ability of the recently established task force to combat the theft of fragrances, computers and other goods from the South Florida area, according to Florida Sens. Connie Mack (R) and Bob Graham (D), and Reps. Carrie Meek (D) and E. Clay Shaw Jr. (R). An April 25 letter to Attorney General Janet Reno from the congressional group states: "It is our understanding that the funds available are insufficient to accomplish any significant improvement in the security of cargo moving through the impacted area."
