EPA regulation of VOCs

This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

The Environmental Protection Agency plans to send a draft inventory report with recommendations of the federal regulation of volatile organic compound emissions from consumer and commercial products to the Office of Management and Budget by Sept. 15 and to Congress by Oct. 15. Under the Clean Air Act amendments of 1990, EPA must create a list of four groups of VOC-emitting products and than start regulating one group every two years ("The Rose Sheet" July 11, p. 1). Draft studies on VOC emissions by antiperspirants, deodorants and hair care products will be sent to OMB and Congress along with the draft inventory report
