CARB antiperspirant/deodorant VOC limits

This article was originally published in The Rose Sheet

Executive Summary

CTFA is negotiating a plan with the California Air Resources Board that would allow the individual manufacturers listed in the plan more time to comply with the state's 0% high volatility organic compound and 10% medium volatility organic compound limits for antiperspirant and deodorant products scheduled to become effective Jan. 1, 1995. The plan will allow the listed manufacturers until 1999 to come into full compliance with the regs, but will probably include some intermediate required VOC reductions, CTFA says. Under the plan, manufacturers would have to file periodic progress reports with CARB. Manufacturers must contact CTFA by Feb. 28 to be included in the plan
