ANTICARIES BIOLOGICAL TESTING INFORMATION REQUESTED BY FDA in a May 24 letter to the Nonprescription Drug Manufacturers Association. Responding to an April 17 citizen petition submitted on behalf of an NDMA/Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association joint task force, the letter states that the agency will not make a decision on whether to extend the effective date of the OTC anticaries final monograph biological testing requirements by 12 months (to Oct. 7, 1997) until the information has been received.
