AirXpanders Installs New CFO/COO

Executive Summary

Scott Murcray has joined tissue expander specialist AirXpanders as chief financial officer/ chief operating officer, as the company is set to grow its operations beyond Australia and into the US. Murcray brings over 20 years of financial experience to AirXpanders, and has held senior finance and management roles at Nanometrics, Zoll Medical, and VNUS Medical Technologies. His appointment was announced together with news that AirXpanders had raised $20m in additional capital through a private placement. The Australia Stock Exchange-listed company will used the proceeds to grow sales of its AeroForm tissue expander in Australia, as well as to support the US launch of the product pending FDA clearance. The firm anticipates the launch to take place in 2017.
