Medtech M&A activity in 2014 looks like it will overtake that in 2013, based on the first half of the year. In H1 2014, Clinica recorded 128 deals, compared with 103 during the same period last year. We have also already seen what is likely to be the biggest buy of the year, Medtronic’s record breaking $42.9bn swoop for Covidien.
