Barboza relinquishes reign of Brazilian giant DASA

Marcelo Noll Barboza has resigned as director-president of Diagn�sticos da América (DASA), the Brazilian diagnostic services and hospital and laboratory supplies giant. From 27 April, board chairman Romeu Côrtes Domingues will take over in an interim capacity for up to 180 days, while a replacement is appointed. Mr Barboza, who had led for three-and-a-half years, will continue to serve the company in an advisory role “for up to two years”. The Barueri, São Paulo-based group, which last week posted a 13% hike in full-year revenues for 2011 (www.clinica.co.uk, 27 March 2012), also announced the appointment of Carlos Elder Maciel de Aquino as financial director, and Paulo Bokel Catta-Preta as director of investor relations.
