The worldwide clinical diagnostics market – haematology and cell imaging segments
This article was originally published in Clinica
Executive Summary
The market for haematology systems is mature, with minimal growth in the number of labs performing such testing, and analysers in place in essentially all of these labs. However, new technologies including rapid point-of-care (POC) devices for performing blood counts, as well as miniaturised disposable devices designed to perform complete blood counts, have recently been introduced, and these are creating some expansion of the market. Another new development in the cellular analysis segment is the emergence of a rapidly-growing market for cell imaging systems used in applications such as cytology, automation of white cell differential counts, and other related applications.
