Endologix CE marks PowerFit and new Powerlink sizes

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Endologix has CE marked its PowerFit aortic extensions and new sizes of its Powerlink stent graft for sale in Europe. Powerlink is a self-expanding stent for the repair of abdominal aortic aneurysms, while the PowerFit extensions are designed to allow the precise placement of stents, including Powerlink. The CE mark covers 31 new Powerlink sizes, which will increase the patient population who can be treated with the graft by 5-10%, Endologix claims. The PowerFit products are available in sizes ranging from 18-32mm in diameter, and a longer stent length of up to 120mm. The Irvine, California firm plans a limited European launch of the products in the fourth quarter, followed by full launch in 2011. The PowerFit devices were approved by the US FDA in August (www.clinica.co.uk, 2 August 2010).
