Dade moves up league with DuPont take-over

Dade International is to acquire DuPont's diagnostics business for an undisclosed amount. The deal combines two companies active in clinical chemistry and immunodiagnostics and will propel Dade to number six among the world's largest diagnostics companies with sales of around $1,000 million. Dade will become the largest independent company solely focused on clinical diagnostics, points out Scott Garrett, Dade's CEO.
