Dome announced the availability of Dimpl its medical imaging software architecture at RSNA (November 26th-December 1st). Dimpl provides programmers with a library of image processing and display functions commonly used in diagnostic imaging stations. Dome says it has four key benefits for software developers: cross-platform capabilities, which allow programs to run on PC's, UNIX and WindowsNT; intelligent use of display hardware; seamless integration with windowed operating environments; and extensible open-architecture, including compatibility with third-party imaging algorithms.
