Executive Summary
The Medical Technology Subgroup of the US-China Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade held its first meeting on December 6th in Washington, DC. Officials from the Ministry of Public Health, the State Pharmaceutical Administration of China and the US Department of Commerce signed terms of reference on ways in which they will work together to facilitate trade between the two countries. Established earlier this year (see Clinica No 654, p 7), the Joint Commission provides a forum for discussion of trade and regulatory issues. The MTS will next meet in June 1996 in China.
