Early invasive and conservative strategies have similar outcomes at one-year, say investigators involved in the TIMI IIIB trial (Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction). Some 1,473 patients were randomised to either early angiography and revascularisation (if necessary) or angiography only where initial therapy failed to prevent recurrent ischaemia as part of a thrombolysis trial.
