The Minnesota Court of Appeals has upheld St Jude Medical's appeal against a December 1994 court decision in Medtronic's favour in relation to its acquisition of Electromedics (see Clinica No 635, p 13). St Jude had sought a $3 million "break up" fee from Electromedics following termination of its merger agreement with St Jude when it accepted a higher bid from Medtronic.
