A study carried out annually by the US News and World Report ranked 128 US hospitals according to the services and specialist areas they offer, as well as mortality and medical reputation. The Rochester-based Mayo Clinic was ranked second with 14 appearances in the top ten and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston was ranked third.
