Indonesia holds "tremendous opportunities" for companies which are willing to commit themselves to long-term investment of around 10 to 15 years, reports Jon Bryant. The country provides a sound macro-economic environment, has cheap labour and offers a vast domestic market which can be used as a gateway to the other ASEAN countries, said Roger Johnson, director of NHS Overseas Enterprises. Mr Johnson was speaking at a joint meeting of the London Chamber of Commerce and the DTI at the end of October.
