The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has reaffirmed last year's ruling in favour of US Surgical's patent dispute against Ethicon Endo-Surgery. Judge Arthur Spiegel maintained that US Surgical's endoscopic and open GIA linear cutter staplers do not infringe Ethicon's patent (see Clinica No 671, p 11).
