Executive Summary
CD4/CD8 positive lymphocyte enumeration is now available on the Coulter STKS haematology system - the first time that lymphocyte subset analysis is available on a conventional haematology analyser. Coulter plans to offer this capability on its new GenS haematology system. The company's CD4/CD8 cyton-spheres bead technology method is a five-minute procedure, whereby latex beads coated with a specific monoclonal antibody bind with positive lymphocytes. Coulter says that the capability to perform other leucocyte subset assays may be added to its haematology systems in the future.
