Becton Dickinson's sales dip in third quarter

Becton Dickinson's international sales increased 1.3% in the third quarter and by 6.6% in the nine months ended June 30th, 1996, to reach $316.12 million and $995.31 million respectively. US sales, on the other hand, declined in both periods by 4.2% to $352.66 million in the third quarter and by 1.3% to $1,043.29 million in the nine months. Total revenues for the third quarter declined 1.6% from last year but adjusted for divestitures and currency translation they grew 6%.
