Russia has agreed the first in a series of long-term partnerships aimed at exploiting opportunities in the country's high-tech medical sector. The Moscow-based Scientific Research Institute for Technological Problems has appointed UK industrial design practice Arkham Products as an exclusive development partner in its medical research efforts. The institute, which carries out research in areas such as advanced laser surgery and diagnostic equipment, is expected to collaborate with UK firms in several EC-funded development programmes.
