Acuson launches Sequoia systems in Europe

Executive Summary

Acuson (US) launched its Sequoia ultrasound systems in Europe last week, at the World Trade Centre in Zurich, Switzerland. The Sequoia 512 system for general imaging and the Sequoia C256 system for echocardiography use Coherent Image Formation technology which utilises both the signal's phase and amplitude. Hence, for the first time in a commercial medical system, 100% of the acoustic information is used, doubling the amount of diagnostic information and halving the processing time.
