Research Medical intends to launch its Neuroflo carotid artery shunt this quarter. The wire-reinforced soft silicone shunt is designed to bypass the carotid artery during endarterectomy procedures. The device also has tight wire coils at each end to ensure firm suture anchoring. Research Medical believes that about half of the 180,000 endarterectomy procedures carried out in the US every year already use shunts.
