Novamedix wins action over footpump patent:

This article was originally published in Clinica

Executive Summary

Orthofix' Novamedix subsidiary has settled its US patent infringement action against Ohio-based New Dimensions in Medicine. NDM admitted that Novamedix' footpump patents are valid and it had infringed them. Novamedix originally filed suit in 1994 alleging the NDM ActOne footpump infringed Novamedix' patent for its A-V Impulse System footpump for blood circulation enhancement. The ruling mirrors a similar judgement in London, UK, in July 1995. Novamedix is still embroiled in ongoing patent litigation with Kinetic Concepts over its footpumps.
