Advanced Microbotics (US) has acquired MicroSurgical Devices which was formed by a group of surgeons. Advanced Microbotics was created in 1994 to commercialise technologies developed at the University of Oregon. It intends to sell MicroSurgical's products worldwide, beginning in Europe and in the US when FDA approval has been obtained. The first products to be introduced this year include disposable devices for ear, nose and throat surgeons and implants for neuro- and orthopaedic surgery.
