Old-style hip joints are still the best

A New Zealand orthopaedic surgeon believes some of the earliest hip joints are still the best. ()At a session he chaired on total hip replacement, at the Western Pacific Orthopaedic Association Congress in Hong Kong, he said that the same applies to older surgical techniques, where surgeons have gone back to the original procedures and devices. Some 85% of the cemented, small head, metal on plastic hips last for 20 years.
