A new gastrostomy method using two powerful magnets has been developed by Dr Jonathan Grier and researchers at Louisiana State University-Shreveport. One magnet is placed in the stomach and the other engaged topically, so that over 10-12 days the internal magnet migrates to the outside cutting a clean, secure stoma.
