Integrated Surgical Systems, developer of robotic products for surgical applications, has raised around $8.9 million in a European share offering. The shares will be listed and traded on the European stock market Easdaq. Proceeds from the offering will be used for product development, sales and marketing. The Californian-based company's main product, the Robodoc surgical assistant system, consists of a surgical robot and computer work station, and is on sale in Europe. The system has been used in total hip replacement surgical procedures on more than 1,500 patients worldwide. Integrated Surgical also produces the NeuroMate system, which positions and holds tools used in neurosurgical procedures.
