Becton Dickinson has signed a letter of intent to acquire IntelliCode Intelligent Bar Coding Systems, a MedPlus division, for $18 million plus $2 million worth of stock. MedPlus will also receive royalties based on IntelliCode net revenues for five years. MedPlus, which was founded in 1991, was the first company to introduce intelligent bard coding technology to the healthcare industry.
