Executive Summary
South Korea's market for pregnancy tests appears to have peaked this year at Won 15 billion ($17 million), up 2.7% on 1996. No real growth in the market can be expected after 1998, reports Pharma Koreana. Intense competition in the wake of the easing of import restrictions has led to prices being cut by more than half - to between Won2,000 and Won5,000 per test. All pregnancy tests sold in South Korea are imported, apart from one manufactured by local company Taewha Pharm.
