More than 250 spontaneous episodes of irregular heart rhythm, in 51 patients, have been successfully restored to normal by Metrix's InControl implantable defibrillator, according to results presented at the European Society of Cardiology meeting in Stockholm. The device is the first commercially available implantable atrial defibrillator in Europe and is undergoing clinical evaluation in the US.
