Executive Summary

Ventana Medical Systems has launched NexES, a new automated immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining system designed for small hospitals in the US. Ventana's fully-automated ES II and Gen II cancer diagnostic systems are aimed primarily at bigger hospitals. The NexES system has been designed on a modular basis that enables customers to tailor its use to their individual workloads. This, says Ventana, will enable it to penetrate the 3,900 US hospitals that have less than 200 beds.
