VHA, the US healthcare alliance, has approved Smith & Nephew's endoscopy division as a certified supplier and has extended a sole source agreement with the company to the end of 2001. The deal, which covers arthroscopic and visualisation equipment, is worth around $100 million annually. VHA represents more than 1,400 US providers.
