Ultrasound company Acuson has decided to base its next generation of image archive systems on Microsoft Windows NT. Acuson says the ease of use, network capabilities and sophisticated multi-media and image handling capabilities that made Apple Macintosh the computer of choice for picture archiving and communications systems (PACS) will soon be available for workstations running Windows software.
