Swedish/US company Pharmacia & Upjohn plans to build an $8 million intra-ocular lens manufacturing plant near Bangalore in India. A new, wholly-owned subsidiary, Pharmacia & Upjohn India, has been formed to construct and operate the plant, which will supply IOLs to the Indian market.
