Sales by UK company Huntleigh Technology fell 1% to £93 million ($142 million) in 1996. The company blamed difficult conditions in the UK and the US which were more than offset by other export markets. Pretax profits, which last year rose 32%, were down 2% to £13 million. During the year, the company's hospital furniture division and the factored product sector were merged with Renray and Hygeia Care respectively.
