Sybron moves into diagnostics with acquisitions

Executive Summary

Sybron, the US dental specialist Sybron has completed a spate of small acquisitions. In early April, it purchased Alexon Biomedical. Alexon based in Sunnyvale, California, manufactures diagnostic tests for gastro-intestinal infections and expects sales of around $9 million this year. Alexon will be merged with Trend Scientific, which Sybron acquired in January, and Remel, purchased in March.
