Esaote's sales up despite poor economic climate

Imaging manufacturer Esaote Biomedica saw revenues increase 7% to Lit 279 billion ($179 million) in 1996, despite stagnation in European markets, especially Germany. The Italian company's results were adversely affected by the appreciation of the Lira, which depressed net sales by around Lit 8 billion.
