Becton Dickinson has acquired Difco Laboratories for an undisclosed cash sum. Difco, which is based in Detroit, Michigan, manufactures microbiology media and supplies. "Difco's strong foundation in classical microbiology will enable us to reach beyond infectious disease diagnostics into bacterial contamination detection and other areas," said Clateo Castellini, chief executive of Becton Dickinson.
