As expected, the German government's draft bill, Neuordungsgesetz 1 (NOG 1), has been passed to the mediation committee of the upper house (Bundesrat). The bill, which is aimed at keeping down contribution rates to the health insurance funds, does not require the approval of the upper house and is expected to be passed later this month by the lower house (Bundestag).
