A simple blood pressure monitoring technique could reduce considerably the number of unnecessary angioplasties performed on patients with chest pain and reduce the likelihood of a subsequent heart attack by half. These conclusions were reached in a major international study presented at the European Society of Cardiology meeting in Vienna last week.
