Medtronic has announced the European commercial release of its device for fast and slow heart rhythms. The Medtronic Jewel AF is an implantable arrhythmia management device that has both detection and therapeutic capabilities. Medtronic claims that the Jewel AF is the world's first device to deliver tiered atrial therapies and pacing. It will first be indicated for patients who suffer fast ventricular arrhythmias. The device is still under clinical evaluation in the US.
