The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit has upheld a decision requiring US Surgical to pay Applied Medical Resources $20.5 million in a patent infringement case. The litigation related to three Applied Medical patents. Privately-held Applied Medical, which is based in Laguna Hills, California, makes minimally-invasive and traditional surgical products for the cardiac, vascular, general surgery and urological markets.
