Executive Summary
Nycomed Pharma has received approval to market its TachoComb surgical wound dressing in Japan. When applied directly to a wound in organs such as the liver or lungs, the product's blood clotting factors and collagen fleece bond to stop diffuse bleeding and seal the tissue. Once the surgical wound has healed, the sealant resorbs into the body. TachoComb will be launched in Japan during the first quarter of 1999.
