The US state of Florida has granted Medicare reimbursement for VidaMed's transurethral needle ablation (TUNA) treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia with effect from January 1 next year. Florida has the second largest Medicare covered population in the US and Fremont, California-based VidaMed estimates that 2.2 million men over the age of 50 will have access to the TUNA procedure.
