R2 Technology, based in Los Altos, California, has raised $11 million through venture financing. The company's first product, the ImageChecker M1000 system, is a device used to identify areas on a mammogram that may require a second review by a radiologist. The product is based on the company's signal processing neural network technology. The system was recently recommended for approval by the FDA's Radiological Devices Advisory Panel.
