Executive Summary
Donald Brounstein, a co-founder of HumaScan, has resigned as president and CEO of the Cranford, New Jersey-based company. HumaScan said it was ready to enter the second phase of its development since Mr Brounstein founded the company and the launch of its first product, the BreastAlert Differential Temperature Sensor device which is used as an adjunctive screening device for breast tumours. Elizabeth Tallett, a HumaScan board member, has been appointed acting CEO and chairman. Mr Brounstein will remain an active board member. HumaScan recently received an FDA warning letter concerning the BreastAlert device (see Clinica No 808, p 16).
