Visible Genetics has acquired a privately-owned French diagnostic laboratory based in Evry-Genopole. The company, ACT Gene, specialises in diagnostic DNA sequencing and resistance genotyping for HIV and hepatitis. The Toronto-based company said that it had acquired the French business, which has a turnover of around $1 million, to act as a European complement to its newly-opened clinical trials centre in Atlanta, Georgia.
